Light, color, form, shape, contrast, tonality. All of these combine to create a moment. In my paintings I work to capture that moment and convey to others my vision of that moment. To me, terms like realist, impressionist, expressionist, abstract, minimalist, and so forth are limiting. I like to think that my paintings have bits and pieces from all of these so called styles. The impression is conveyed in abstract terms. The work is expressive in a minimalist way. You see where this kind of verbal contortion can lead. Painting is visual not verbal. Look. See. Understand. But most of all, enjoy!
